US and EU to urgently discuss sanctions on Russian oil and gas, says Finnish president

Advisers to US President Donald Trump will urgently discuss with the European Union the possibility of sanctions against Russian oil and gas, said Finnish President Alexander Stubb, according to The Guardian.
Stubb revealed details of today's telephone conversation involving US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the leaders of the countries of the Coalition of the Willing.
According to the Finnish leader, Trump's approach is that Europe and the United States must act together on sanctions and look for ways to stop Russia's war machine "by economic means."
"In that case there are two targets, namely oil and gas. The President of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and President Trump's close advisers will discuss this over the next 24 hours," Stubb added.
Sanctions against Russia
Earlier, The Guardian, citing an unnamed White House official, reported that US President Donald Trump, during today's call with European leaders, stated the need for Europe to completely abandon Russian oil.
According to him, Trump also wants Europe to punish China for financing Russia's military efforts.
Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Trump was very dissatisfied that some European countries continue to buy Russian oil.
At the same time, according to Zelenskyy, Hungary and Slovakia complained to the American leader when Ukrainian defenders struck the infrastructure of the Druzhba oil pipeline on Russian territory.
