Unknown drone spotted near US base in Poland, military called police

An unidentified drone entered the airspace of the US missile defense base in Redzikowo. The military simply called 112, Onet reports.

During the day on September 15, an unidentified UAV approached the US missile defense base in Poland’s Pomeranian Voivodeship.
According to the outlet, the military immediately called the emergency number 112. They did not attempt to shoot down or disable the drone.
Poland’s Ministry of Defense confirmed that a drone had flown near the US military facility. However, officials said it was a purely civilian drone that posed no threat and was being monitored.
According to the military, the drone did not fly over the base. However, it entered an area where flights by unmanned aerial vehicles are prohibited, about 1 kilometer from the facility.
The Ministry of Defense located the place from which the device was being controlled.
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz expects a full report on the incident. He promised to take the necessary measures if any violations occurred during the incident.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that late on September 21, Poland and Latvia scrambled fighter jets due to the threat of an air attack. This came amid a massive drone attack on Ukraine.
In addition, Poland will install sirens along the border with Ukraine. The measure is being taken because of Russian attacks.
