In mid-February, the White House under the leadership of President Joe Biden covertly approved a decision to provide Ukraine with more than 100 longer-range ATACMS missiles, according to The New York Times.

As noted by a high-ranking official of the United States, the ATACMS missiles were part of a $300 million arms shipment to Ukraine in March. This marked the first aid package following the depletion of funding back in December.

Covert transfer of ATACMS

The fact that the United States supplied Ukraine with long-range ATACMS missiles was reported by Reuters yesterday. As mentioned earlier, they were included in the aid package approved by Biden on March 12. However, the exact number of missiles remained undisclosed.

The missiles were first deployed on April 17 during an airstrike on an airport in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Reuters reported that the United States took this step in response to Russia's use of long-range ballistic missiles supplied by North Korea.

Later, the US Department of Defense confirmed that the ATACMS missiles arrived in Ukraine earlier this month.
