On Sunday, January 4, unidentified drones attacked Moscow. Around 200 flights are delayed in the Russian capital, according to Russian Telegram channels.
Judging by posts from Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the attack on the Russian capital began at around 02:39 PM. At that time, according to the city head, air defense forces shot down a drone heading toward Moscow.
A short while later, Sobyanin continued posting about additional drones allegedly being shot down, and this went on at least until 04:31 PM. Russian media, based on Sobyanin’s posts, calculated that so far, Russia’s air defenses have downed 27 drones.
At the same time, it is reported that Moscow airports — Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky — are temporarily not operating (neither receiving nor dispatching flights). As a result, about 200 flights are currently delayed, and several more have been canceled.
It is also worth noting that if you check the Flightradar service, you can see that there are practically no planes currently flying over Moscow.

Drone attack on Moscow
Yesterday evening, January 3, Moscow was also targeted by unidentified drones. As a result, around 50 flights were delayed at Vnukovo Airport.
Russian media reported that some flights were diverted to another airport, Sheremetyevo. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 18 drones were shot down over the Moscow region.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that on the night of December 15, unidentified drones also flew toward Moscow and its suburbs. Residents of the Moscow-region town of Kashira complained about explosions, and several capital airports had already restricted their operations on the evening of December 14.
