Russia has begun equipping its Shahed drones with PTM-3 anti-tank mine dispensers, posing a direct threat to civilians, according to the National Police of Ukraine on Facebook.

The National Police reported that in the Sumy region, a downed enemy drone was found carrying PTM-3 anti-tank mine dispensers under its wings.

"This method allows the enemy to remotely mine roads, agricultural fields, and other areas. The PTM-3 mine, which is small in size and housed in a plastic casing, has a magnetic detonator and is triggered by vehicles that are nearby or pass over it," law enforcement emphasized.

The police are urging citizens to remain alert and cautious, especially drivers operating machinery in fields or traveling on country roads with poor visibility due to vegetation.

If a mine is discovered, one must:

  • immediately stop the vehicle;

  • move to a safe distance;

  • report the finding to the police by calling 102.

These rules also apply to drones that did not explode upon crashing.

Notably, reports about mines attached under the wings of Shahed drones surfaced as early as yesterday, August 4. Communications expert and head of the Center for Radio Technologies, Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov, stated that the mines were detected during yesterday’s drone attack.

Attack on the night of August 5
