Loud threats from the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin indicate his fear. Ukraine must force Russia to stop the terror, states the Head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, on Telegram.

He emphasized the need for "strong decisions." According to the Head of the President's Office, terror can be stopped by destroying the military facilities where it originates.

"Russian terror begins at weapons depots, airfields, and military bases on Russian territory. If Russia is not willing to stop the terror voluntarily, they must be forced to do so. Any threats they make are out of fear of losing the ability to kill people," Yermak stated.

He added that allowing Ukraine to strike deep into Russia would accelerate the end of Russian terror and prevent it from spreading to other countries — a goal sought by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

To recall, Putin recently claimed that NATO is being drawn into war against Russia if Ukraine's allies allow it to strike Russian territory with long-range missiles.

Background

Ukraine has been urging its partners to lift restrictions on the use of long-range weapons supplied to it. This issue was discussed during the visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy to Kyiv this week.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he expects a decision from partners and urged them not to delay, as Russia is moving military facilities deeper into the country.

According to Politico, the US and UK are expected to make the necessary agreement during the United Nations General Assembly in September. Meanwhile, The Guardian reports that the US and UK have already given Ukraine the green light to strike Russian rear positions, though they have not publicly announced it.
