Ukraine's partners have formed another coalition within the framework of our country's defense. It concerns strengthening air defense, according to a statement from US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin during the opening of Ramstein.

"I look forward to working together to identify the leaders and participants for each of our 'capability coalitions.' We have already organized coalitions focused on building up Ukraine’s air force and its information-technology capabilities," he said.

The head of the Pentagon emphasizes that today, participants of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group will discuss progress in developing a new coalition related to ground-based air defense capabilities.

"I appreciate the leadership of Germany and France in organizing this important initiative. Last week, they held their first virtual coalition discussion," Austin stated.

Coalitions for the defense of Ukraine

It's worth noting that Ukraine's partners have formed several coalitions to facilitate the supply of military equipment and other armaments to the Ukrainian army. These include a tank coalition, a coalition for supplying armored personnel carriers, a demining coalition, a coalition for transferring F-16 aircraft, and an IT coalition.

Additionally, following the latest Ramstein meeting, Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov announced that Ukraine had initiated a new coalition for the development of the defense industry.

Ramstein-17

Today, on November 22, the seventeenth meeting of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format is taking place. Allies and partners are conducting this meeting in an online format this time.
