Ukrainian MoD holds 'very productive' talks with French counterpart
Ukrainian Minister of Defense Oleksii Reznikov held a conversation with the French Minister of Defense Sébastien Lecornu today, September 1, according to the head of Ukraine's defense ministry on the social network X.
"Held very productive negotiations with my colleague Lecornu," the statement reads.
Reznikov expresses Ukraine's appreciation for France's support and assistance in enhancing Ukraine's defense capabilities.
No further details of the dialogue between the two ministers were provided.
French assistance
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, stated that France would strengthen its assistance to Ukraine, with new deliveries being prepared.
She later highlighted China's influence on Moscow in a telephone conversation with her Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, and called on Russia to adhere to international law and cease its large-scale military aggression against Ukraine.
Ukraine's Ambassador to France, Vadim Omelchenko, also announced that Ukraine had received all the long-range SCALP missiles promised by France as part of the first batch.
Additionally, Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, met with French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to France on August 30.
