The Armed Forces of Ukraine have already liberated 51 square kilometers of territory in the Bakhmut direction during the counteroffensive. Specifically, last week, Ukrainian soldiers managed to de-occupy Andriivka and Klishchiivka, reports Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Defense, Hanna Maliar, during a telethon.

"In the Bakhmut direction, which is our eastern front, two populated areas were liberated during the past week: Andriivka and Klishchiivka," said Maliar.

According to her, during the counteroffensive near Bakhmut, 51 square kilometers of territory have already been liberated. Ukrainian soldiers liberated an additional 2 square kilometers last week.

Liberation of Klishchiivka

On the evening of September 17, the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced the liberation of the populated area of Klishchiivka near Bakhmut. Fighters from the 80th brigade, the 5th separate assault brigade, and the Lyut (Fury) brigade from the Offensive Guard were responsible for driving out the occupiers from Klishchiivka.

Later, this information was confirmed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his evening address, thanked the military for returning Ukrainian territory.
