On December 11, Russian forces launched 68 assaults on Ukrainian positions in the area of responsibility of the East Operational Command. Despite Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s claims, Siversk remains under Ukrainian control, according to the Command's post.
Siversk, in the Sloviansk direction, remains under the control of Ukraine's defense forces. Russian troops are attempting to infiltrate the town in small groups under the cover of adverse weather conditions. Most of them are destroyed before reaching the town.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces tried 33 times to attack Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Shakhove, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and toward Novopavlivka. Ukrainian forces repelled 31 attacks, with fighting still ongoing.
"Ukraine’s defense forces continue to control the northern part of Pokrovsk. In the central part of the town, Ukrainian troops block enemy advances," the statement reads.
In Myrnohrad, Ukrainian units hold defensive lines and destroy Russian forces approaching the town.
"Logistics remain complicated. Measures are being taken to expand supply corridors to Myrnohrad to strengthen our capabilities," Ukrainian defenders said.
Defense of Siversk
Previously, the Russian President again exaggerated the successes of his forces. This time, Putin claimed the capture of Siversk in the Donetsk region.
On December 8, the DeepState project reported that the Russian army had intensified attempts to seize Siversk, deploying infantry to the town. Analysts added that the town is gradually falling into enemy hands.
However, on December 10, the East Operational Command emphasized that although the situation in Siversk is tense, rumors of Russian control over the town are false.
