What preceded
Yesterday, December 8, the analytical project DeepState reported that Russian forces had intensified attempts to advance in the area of Siversk in the Donetsk region.
According to experts, the enemy continues to bring infantry directly into the city, posing a threat that Siversk will fall under Russian control.
"Siversk is gradually ending up in the hands of the enemy, and the situation is developing in a less than favorable way," the analysts noted.

What Operational Command East says
According to the command, the situation in the Siversk area on the Sloviansk axis remains tense. At the same time, claims that the enemy has established control over the city do not correspond to reality.
It is noted that the enemy, taking advantage of weather conditions, is attempting to infiltrate the city with small assault groups. The Defense Forces are eliminating the attackers in the town and on its outskirts.
"The defense forces are destroying the invaders in the city and on its outskirts. Their attempts to install flags in the city buildings to create a propaganda image also end in losses for the occupiers," the statement by Operational Command East says.
What the Center for Countering Disinformation says
Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, also stated that Russian forces do not control Siversk. According to him, Russian propaganda traditionally seeks to prevent the temporary incursions of assault groups into the city, but fighting continues.
According to the General Staff, on the Sloviansk axis, the Defense Forces repelled 12 enemy attacks over the past day in the areas of Yampol, Serebrianka, Siversk, Zvanivka, Pereizne, and Fedorivka.
