Over the past two weeks, the Main Intelligence Directorate's special unit Ghosts has carried out eight precise strikes on key Russian targets in occupied Crimea. The attacks hit a bomber, radar systems, and Russian logistics, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
Intelligence officials emphasized that the specialists of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (HUR) special unit Ghosts continue the methodical demilitarization of the temporarily occupied peninsula.
Over the past two weeks, eight precise strikes on Russian military infrastructure have been recorded.
In particular, Ghosts drones struck:
-
A Su-24 front-line bomber;
-
An antenna inside a radome;
-
A 39N6 Kasta-2E2 radar station;
-
An Orion combat UAV;
-
Two 48Ya6-K1 Podlet radar systems;
-
A Russian army freight train;
-
A Ural military truck.
Intelligence officers also released footage showing drones engaging targets in the enemy rear.
Su-24 bomber
This is a Soviet-designed front-line aircraft intended for strikes against ground and naval targets in any weather conditions. It has variable-sweep wings, carries a wide range of missiles and bombs, and is actively used by Russia in military operations.
Despite its age, the Su-24 remains in service, although it is considered outdated and vulnerable to modern air defense systems.
48Ya6-K1 Podlet radar
This is a radar station that is part of the S-300V surface-to-air missile system. It is designed to detect and track aerial targets and to transmit targeting information to launchers.
39N6 Kasta-2E2 radar station
This is a Russian mobile 3-coordinate, decimeter-band circular-scan radar station designed to detect, track, and identify aerial targets, especially those flying at extremely low altitudes (low-altitude radar).
It can be used for airspace control, airport air traffic management, and for detecting drones, cruise missiles, and aircraft that blend into the terrain.
Other Ghosts operations in Crimea
On December 4, drones destroyed a Russian multirole MiG-29 fighter jet parked at the Kacha military airfield.
Intelligence officers also successfully struck a high-value target in temporarily occupied Crimea — a Russian radar system belonging to the S-400 complex.
