At the beginning of August, the Group 13 unit of Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (HUR) destroyed a Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense missile and gun system and a military crane in temporarily occupied Crimea, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence announces.

According to HUR, military intelligence operators destroyed the Russian Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and gun system along with a military crane used by occupying forces.

The estimated value of the destroyed Pantsir system is approximately $15 million.

To strike the Russian ground targets during the operation, which took place in early August 2026, Ukrainian forces used Magura multi-purpose naval platforms equipped to carry FPV drones.

Previous Ukrainian Intelligence operations

Earlier, HUR drones struck several high-value Russian military targets in southern Ukraine, including a Pantsir-S1 air defense system, a Sargan patrol boat, and a Forpost drone control station.

HUR drones also destroyed Russia's expensive Murmansk-BN electronic warfare system in temporarily occupied Crimea.

More recently, Ukrainian forces destroyed the launcher and radar of a Russian S-400 air defense system in Crimea, burning the equipment at its combat position.
