On January 18, drones of the Main Intelligence Directorate (DIU) attacked an oil depot in the Tula region (Russia). At least ten direct hits were reported, according to RBC-Ukraine's sources in Ukrainian intelligence.

"At least ten precise strikes by drones targeted an oil depot in the Tula region during the night of January 18," intelligence sources said.

According to sources in DIU, the successful strike on the enemy facility was carried out thanks to the Main Intelligence Directorate operators and Ukrainian production drones.

According to local authorities, there was reportedly a fire in a fuel storage tank at one of the region's enterprises, with firefighting teams currently working on-site.

"Despite Russian media claims about the 'successful work of air defense,' a massive fire broke out at the oil depot," DIU noted.

Eyewitnesses have shared footage of the UAV strikes on the enemy facility, which supports the operations of the Russian occupation army.

Drone attacks on Russian oil depots

Ukrainian Defense Forces consistently target oil refineries in Russia and those located in temporarily occupied parts of Ukraine.

In particular, on the evening of January 17, unidentified drones attacked an oil depot in the Kaluga region. The target was an industrial enterprise in the city of Lyudinovo. According to eyewitnesses, debris fell on the plant's territory, igniting a fire.

Additionally, Ukrainian defenders recently struck the Rosneft base in the settlement of Liski, near Voronezh.
