Ukrainian forces attacked the Liskinskaya oil depot near Russia's Voronezh, which is part of the Rosneft structure, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Special Operations Forces.

"On the night of Jan. 16, 2025, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces, successfully attacked the Liski oil depot in the Voronezh region, Russia," the General Staff said.

The Special Operations Forces said that they struck the Rosneft base in the settlement of Liski, near Voronezh.

The General Staff added that at least three strike drones hit the target, causing a large-scale fire at the site.

"As a result of the strike, a powerful fire broke out at the oil depot. Several tanks are still burning," the SOF said.

The oil depot stored fuel, which was also supplied to the Russian military group fighting against Ukraine.

Explosions near the oil depot

On the evening of January 15, the Russians reported explosions in the Voronezh region. Loud sounds were heard near the city of Liski, where the oil depot is located.

The Russians claimed the explosions were related to a drone attack, mentioning air defense systems' activity and the alleged fall of debris. Footage of a serious fire at the local oil depot was also shared online.
