Russia reports drone attack on oil refinery in Voronezh region: Video
Drones attacked an oil refinery in the Voronezh region. Russia announced the "activation" of its air defense system, according to the SHOT Telegram channel and the Baza Telegram channel.
Local residents reported that some time ago, a series of explosions were heard over the city of Liski, with flashes visible in the sky. According to them, the air defense system allegedly "activated" near the local oil refinery.
Currently, as reported by the SHOT Telegram channel, there is allegedly no information about casualties. However, a glow from a fire can be seen.
As specified in the Telegram channel, a fire broke out at an oil depot in one of the districts of the region due to the alleged "fall" of several UAVs.
According to the Baza Telegram channel, the oil depot in the Voronezh region was allegedly attacked by three drones at once.
Eyewitnesses said that all three drones fell on the oil refinery's territory within a few minutes of each other.
Attacks on Russia's oil refineries
Ukraine's defense forces continuously target Russian oil refineries with drones. These include facilities both within Russia's territory and in the occupied areas of Ukraine.
Recently, it was reported that in 2024, oil refineries and fuel depots in Russia and the occupied territories of Ukraine were attacked at least 81 times. The most frequent targets have been oil facilities in southern Russia.
It is worth noting that explosions were recently heard near the city of Voronezh. Drones were detected in the region, and air defense systems were actively engaged.
Additionally, in September 2024, drone debris fell on an ammunition storage site in the Voronezh region. A fire broke out at the impact site, followed by detonation.
