Explosions in the Voronezh region
Drone attacks on Voronezh and its region have been reported by the Russian side multiple times before. These airstrikes have also been accompanied by explosions and fires at various facilities.
For example, in early January, Russia claimed that a drone strike hit the Baltimore military airfield in Voronezh. This airfield hosts the 47th Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 105th Mixed Aviation Division, with Su-34 aircraft being the primary type.
Additionally, at the end of December 2024, Russian media also reported a drone attack on the Baltimor airfield in Voronezh.
In mid-August, explosions were also heard in the Russian city of Voronezh following drone attacks and the work of air defense systems. Russian media reported multiple fires and stated that explosions were heard, particularly in Borisoglebsk, where a military airfield is also located.
