Russia claims drone attack on Baltimor military airfield
Drones attempted to attack the Baltimor military airfield in Russia's Voronezh region. This occurred on the morning of December 25, informs ASTRA.
On the morning of December 25, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that their air defense intercepted 59 drones. Allegedly, 26 drones were shot down over the Belgorod region, 23 over Voronezh, three over Kursk, Bryansk, and Tambov regions, and one over the Azov Sea.
According to the Russian media, yesterday drones tried to strike the Baltimor military airfield in Voronezh, where several drones were reportedly shot down.
ASTRA notes that drone debris allegedly fell on a garage in Voronezh, causing it to burn down. In the village of Novogremyachye, a downed drone damaged the roof of a residential building.
"There were no injuries, and the airfield was not damaged," the statement says.
The Baltimor military airfield is located in Voronezh, approximately 175 km from Ukraine. It houses the 47th Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 105th Mixed Aviation Division. The primary aircraft type is the Su-34, which the Russians use for precision-guided bomb strikes.
Attack on an ammunition depot in Rostov region
Recently, the Security Service of Ukraine drones attacked an ammunition depot at the Kadomovskiy training ground near the village of Novocherkassk in the Rostov region. According to RBC-Ukraine sources, a powerful explosion was reported at the depot, followed by detonation.
The Russians used this depot to supply their troops in the Kramatorsk direction.
It is worth noting that the Kadomovskiy training ground is one of the largest in Russia.
