On the night of Friday, March 27, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Russian Valdai radar complex in the Hvardiiske area of the temporarily occupied Crimea. Notably, the complex is designed to detect and counter small drones, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A Forpost ground-based drone control station was also struck in Yevpatoria. Additionally, Ukrainian defenders struck a Russian command post in the Olhinka area of the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region.

Defense forces also struck a Russian ammunition depot in the Mangush area of the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian troops also struck Russian logistics depots in the Rybynske (temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region) and Novoselivka (temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region) areas.

In addition, a strike was carried out on an area where Russian personnel were concentrated near Dorozhnie in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region.

The extent of the damage inflicted and the Russian losses are currently being assessed.

Strikes on Russian targets

On March 25, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported a special operation to strike the infrastructure of the Ust-Luga oil terminal in the Leningrad region. Long-range drones from the SBU’s Alpha Special Operations Center struck targets at a distance of 900 km.

On March 3, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked strategic Russian energy facilities, the Transneft—Port Primorsk oil terminal, and the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim oil refinery.

Ukrainian defenders also damaged a Russian A-50 long-range early warning and control aircraft during an attack on an aircraft repair plant in the Novgorod region.

On March 20, Robert Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Unmanned Systems Forces, reported that a Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter, valued at at least $16 million, had been destroyed near the village of Nadiivka in the Donetsk region.

A key feature of the operation was the use of a fiber-optic FPV drone, which made it possible to effectively attack the aerial target and eliminate the crew as they attempted to evacuate.
