On November 11, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Orsknefteorgsintez oil refinery in Russia's Orenburg region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, the strike was carried out as part of measures to reduce the enemy's offensive potential and complicate the supply of fuel and ammunition to Russian forces.

It is known that the plant produces more than 30 types of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and oils, and is used to meet the needs of the Russian army. The plant's design capacity is 6.6 million tons of oil per year.

Preliminary reports indicate that several explosions and a fire occurred on the plant's territory as a result of the strike, damaging one of the primary oil processing units. The results of the hit are being clarified.

"The Defense Forces will continue to take measures to undermine the offensive potential of Russian forces and force Russia to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine," the General Staff stated.

Earlier, an unidentified drone had attacked an oil refinery in the Russian city of Orsk, Orenburg region. It is located about 1,500 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
