Ukrainian forces have made gains near the village of Mali Shcherbaky in the Stepnohirsk community of the Zaporizhzhia region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

In the Orikhiv direction, assault units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces improved their tactical position near Mali Shcherbaky.

Overall, Ukrainian troops advanced up to 3.5 kilometers, destroying a significant number of Russian soldiers and taking prisoners.

"We thank the fighters of the 24th Separate Assault Battalion Aidar, the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment, and other units demonstrating exemplary courage and coordination. They are disrupting enemy plans and restoring control over Ukrainian territory," the military said.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukrainian forces had advanced three kilometers near Orikhiv. Counteroffensive operations are also continuing in the Dobropillia direction.

Meanwhile, the 24th Separate Assault Battalion Aidar said on social media that Ukrainian troops had regained control of Mali Shcherbaky. Units of Aidar, together with the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment, raised the Ukrainian flag in the village.
