Ukrainian forces destroy two Russian TOS-1A Solntsepyok near Kupiansk

Ukrainian forces struck two Russian Solntsepyok launchers near Kupiansk, according to the commander of the 429th Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment Achilles.
It is reported that crews of the 429th regiment destroyed two expensive enemy multiple launch rocket systems, the TOS-1A Solntsepyok, in the Kupiansk direction.
"These flamethrower systems are used by the occupiers to shell both Defense Forces’ positions and Ukrainian settlements, aiming to destroy them and break through," the video caption reads.
TOS-1A Solntsepyok
The TOS-1A Solntsepyok is a Russian heavy flamethrower system mounted on a modified T-72 tank chassis. It is designed to target enemy personnel, fortifications, and equipment over a relatively small area using thermobaric munitions.
The combat vehicle carries 24 missiles of 220 mm caliber, which can be fired in a salvo within seconds. The system is equipped with a fire control computer, a laser rangefinder, and communications gear, allowing it to fire from prepared positions at ranges of several kilometers (depending on the type of missile).
Tactically, the Solntsepyok is used to clear fortified areas, demolish defensive structures, and create breakthrough corridors for infantry and armored units. The destructive effect is achieved through a combination of high pressure and heat at the explosion’s epicenter.
At the same time, the system has a limited range and relatively vulnerable protection due to its size and dependence on security, so its use requires support and careful protection from counter-battery and air threats.
Earlier today, Commander of the unmanned systems forces Robert "Madyar" Brovdi reported that Ukrainian forces carried out a unique operation, downing a Russian Mi-8 helicopter with an FPV drone.
