Russia has lost another combat aircraft in Crimea. A Su-24M and four pieces of airfield equipment were destroyed at the Saky airfield, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The president confirmed the results of previous strikes by Ukrainian forces.
A Russian Su-24M aircraft was destroyed at the Saky airfield in occupied Crimea. Also, four pieces of airfield equipment were hit there.
Another result of the strikes was the destruction of repeaters in the Bryansk region. According to Zelenskyy, these systems were used by Russian forces to control drones that attack Ukrainian cities and villages.
Ukraine continues to strike Russian targets far from the front
Zelenskyy also noted that Ukrainian long-range strikes continue to limit Russia's military and economic capabilities.
According to him, over the course of a day, Ukrainian units hit the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery, located approximately 1,000 km from the front line.
A logistics hub in the Samara region was also hit. Ukrainian forces also carried out separate strikes in the Black Sea.
"Ukrainian long-range sanctions continue to limit Russia’s military and economic potential, ensuring the aggressor state feels the impact of the war more directly," Zelenskyy emphasized.
On August 12, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a series of strikes on Russian military targets in temporarily occupied Crimea. An airfield control tower at Saky airfield was hit in the area of Novofedorivka, while a repeater used to control attack drones was hit near Chornomorske.
Also, during the night of August 22, Ukrainian forces hit two targets in Russia's Samara region — the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery and the Ozon logistics hub. Fire Point said the strikes were carried out by FP-1 drones.
