Ukrainian forces have denied reports claiming that Russian troops have taken full control of the settlement of Orikhovo-Vasylivka in the Donetsk region, according to the Eastern Group of Forces.

According to the group, information circulated by certain media outlets is false. Ukrainian units remain in the area and continue to hold their positions.

Specifically, soldiers of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade are repelling enemy attacks and inflicting casualties, despite significant pressure from Russian forces.

The military stressed that the situation in this direction of the front remains difficult and dynamic, but claims of a full Russian occupation of Orikhovo-Vasylivka are premature and inaccurate.

The Eastern Group of Forces also urged media representatives and administrators of information platforms to verify reports and rely only on official sources.

Situation on the front

Earlier, Viktor Trehubov, head of communications for the Joint Forces Group, said that the main enemy forces were concentrated in a single neighbourhood of multi-storey buildings in Kupiansk, where operations to clear the area are ongoing. Ukrainian defenders are trying to complete the operation with minimal losses.

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine maintain control over the northern part of Pokrovsk and are holding back Russian advances toward Myrnohrad. The Defense Forces also denied reports that the village of Minkivka in the Donetsk region had been captured, emphasizing that it remains under Ukrainian control.

Earlier, the Ukrainian military reported that the situation in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, remained stable, although Russian units were attempting to bypass the city and expand their area of influence.

In Vovchansk itself, Russian forces are attempting to advance in the southwestern part of the city, where intense clashes are ongoing.
