In Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders continue clearing the city of Russian troops. Most enemy soldiers are concentrated in a single neighborhood, stated Viktor Trehubov, head of the communications department of the Joint Forces Group.

"Most of the enemy is concentrated in the city center, in a single block of apartment buildings. The current goal is to complete the clearing of this block, preferably without casualties among Ukrainian soldiers," Trehubov said.

He noted that all attempts of the Russian soldiers to improve their positions and approach the city to reestablish land connections have failed. At the same time, pressure from the east of the city is not producing the desired results for Russian troops. Trehubov added that this means that the Russian army is not receiving reinforcements.

According to him, Russia's current plan in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions is to establish a "control zone" along the border. Meanwhile, in the Lyman direction, the enemy wants to take control of Lyman and then advance toward the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.

At the same time, in Vovchansk, Russian troops are consolidating in the northern part of the city, while advancing into the southern part remains difficult for them.

What’s happening in Kupiansk

Earlier, National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pivnenko said that Ukrainian defenders hold control over the central part of Kupiansk.

According to him, fighters from the Khartiia brigade continue clearing the city of the enemy. The Russian soldiers are actively using FPV drones in the city.

A few days ago, Trehubov also stated that several dozen Russian soldiers remain in Kupiansk.
