Ukrainian forces capture a citizen of Uzbekistan in Zaporizhzhia direction
During combat operations in the Zaporizhzhia direction, servicemen of the Spartan Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine captured a 46-year-old Uzbek citizen who was fighting on the side of Russia, according to the Telegram channel of the Spartan Operational Brigade.
According to the military, the detained man was recruited by the Russian army through a migration center in Moscow. He signed a contract hoping to avoid a criminal record and earn money. He was captured by servicemen of the brigade's fourth battalion during another assault operation.
Russia's tactic of recruiting foreigners
Russians are actively recruiting migrants from Central Asia. It is not uncommon for men residing in Russia to be offered contracts with promises of avoiding legal issues and receiving substantial financial rewards.
In addition, Russia is actively involving military personnel from North Korea in the war. In the Kursk direction, North Korean soldiers are sent into assaults without armored vehicles. They are concentrated in forested areas and then sent to storm narrow sections of the front from several directions simultaneously.
Successes of the National Guard in other directions and the situation on the front
Earlier, servicemen of the Kara-Dag brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine repelled an attack by Russian assault groups in the Pokrovsk direction of the Donetsk region.
According to the Institute for the Study of War, Russian forces have strengthened their troops, but they are still far from achieving total superiority.
It was also reported that Security Service (SBU) drones destroyed an enemy ammunition depot in the Donetsk region overnight.
