Ukrainian strike drones have reached the Ural Mountains for the first time, attacking Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk after flying up to 1,800 kilometers deep into Russia’s rear, according to Militarnyi.

According to preliminary estimates, the actual flight range may be even greater, since calculations based on the distance from Ukraine’s state border do not account for the exact launch locations.

The attack was also confirmed by Sverdlovsk region governor Denis Pasler and Chelyabinsk region governor Alexey Teksler.

Ukraine has carried out long-range strikes before. In particular, drones previously attacked targets in the city of Orsk, located about 1,400 kilometers from the border.

Strikes by Ukraine’s Defense Forces on Russia

As a reminder, throughout April, Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out a series of strikes on targets inside Russia.

At the beginning of the month, operators of the Unmanned Systems Forces together with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) struck the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant, after which production was halted.

On April 5, following a Ukrainian drone attack, the Nizhny Novgorod oil refinery Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez — one of the largest in Russia — suspended operations.

On April 16, the SBU reported a strike on the Tuapse oil refinery and oil transportation infrastructure at the port of Tuapse.

On the night of April 18, Ukraine’s Defense Forces hit four key oil refining industry facilities in Russia.

Also, on the night of April 23, drones from the SBU’s Alpha Special Operations Center attacked the Gorky oil pumping station in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
