As part of reducing Russia’s military-economic potential, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck four important oil refining industry facilities in Russia at once on the night of April 18, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As a result of Ukrainian drone strikes, fires are raging at:

  • Novokuybyshevsk and Syzran oil refineries in Russia’s Samara region;
  • RPK Vysotsk Lukoil-2 oil terminal in the Leningrad region;
  • Tikhoretsk oil pumping station in Krasnodar Krai.

All the facilities are involved in supplying the armed forces of the Russian army.

The extent of the damage is being clarified.

Also, a number of the enemy’s fuel and lubricants storage sites in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine were hit, including in the Mariupol area.

Ukrainian soldiers also struck the locations of the repair units in the areas of the settlements of Manhush (temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region), Tokmak (temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region), and Hrafske (temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region).

Strikes on Russian oil refineries

On April 16, the Security Service of Ukraine reported a strike on the Tuapse oil refinery and oil transport infrastructure facilities in the port of Tuapse during an operation conducted jointly with the Defense Forces.

We also reported that the Nizhny Novgorod refinery (NORSI), the fourth largest in Russia, suspended operations after a Ukrainian drone attack on April 5.

And a series of strikes on Russia’s key oil terminals in the Baltic inflicted losses of nearly $1 billion, and it's only lost export revenue.
