Security Service of Ukraine's (SBU) sources reported a strike on the Tuapse Oil Refinery and oil transportation infrastructure facilities in the port of Tuapse during an operation conducted jointly with the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Strike on Tuapse oil refinery
Yesterday and overnight on April 16, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a series of strikes on key Russian military targets.
The main target was the Tuapse Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai of Russia.
The Tuapse oil refinery produces a wide range of Euro-5 standard petroleum products, most of which are intended for export via the marine terminal.
The facility, which is part of Rosneft, has a design capacity of approximately 12 million tons of oil per year and is involved in supplying the Russian military.
A fire broke out at the facility following the strikes; the extent of the damage is being assessed.
Strikes on military infrastructure
In addition to the refinery, other targets were also hit. In particular, a strike was carried out on the area where the tactical group of the 15th Separate Coastal Missile Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet (Bastion coastal missile system) is concentrated in Sevastopol, in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
There are also reports of strikes on Russian air defense systems: the Buk-M2 air defense system in Bahativka in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region, the Pantsir air defense system in Feodosia, and the Osa air defense system in Vodiane in the Donetsk region.
Strikes on command centers and manpower
Separately, strikes were recorded on Russian drone command centers in the areas of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region and Hola Prystan in the Kherson region.
Concentrations of manpower and a command post in the areas of Rodynske, Zatyshne, and Rivnepole in the Donetsk region were also struck.
Strike on Tuapse oil terminal
There are also reports of damage to the infrastructure of the Tuapse port oil terminal, which operates in conjunction with the Tuapse oil refinery. According to sources, parts of the pipeline system, the tank farm, and offshore oil loading facilities have been damaged. Fires were reported following the strikes.
In Tuapse, unidentified drones attacked the port and oil depot infrastructure, after which oil tanks caught fire; smoke from the blaze is spreading and visible from dozens of kilometers away.
