Long-range drones from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) struck the Tingovatovo oil pumping station in Russia's Chuvash Republic on the night of September 27, disabling the station, sources told RBC-Ukraine.

"On the night of September 27, long-range drones from the SBU's Special Operations Center 'A' targeted the Tingovatovo oil pumping station. It is located about 1,000 kilometers (621 miles -ed.) from Ukraine in the settlement of Konar, Chuvash Republic, Russia," sources said.

The station’s operations were temporarily suspended to assess the extent of the damage, and the republic's head confirmed the attack.

SBU sources reported that the drone struck Pumping Station No. 1, resulting in a fire. Oil is not currently being transported through the facility.

"The SBU continues to 'impose sanctions' on Russia's oil sector, which generates superprofits for the aggressor state that are used to fund the war against Ukraine. Efforts to reduce the flow of oil dollars into Russia's budget will continue," the source added.

Earlier, on September 27, Russian authorities reported a drone attack on the Chuvash Republic, claiming a UAV hit a pumping station. Ukraine did not officially confirm this.

Ukraine resumed strikes on Russian refineries and pipelines in the summer of 2025. Coordinated operations by the SBU, Special Operations Forces, Defense Intelligence, and the State Border Service have collectively disabled roughly 20% of Russia's oil refining capacity, leading to a fuel crisis and logistical challenges.
