Russia has redeployed about 50,000 troops to the Kursk region from other frontlines in Ukraine. This made it easier for the Armed Forces to conduct a defense operation, stated the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi in a documentary about the western direction for Ukraine.

"We know that about 50,000 troops have been redeployed to the Kursk direction from other directions where the enemy was conducting offensive operations," said Syrskyi.

According to him, this move by the Russian forces has weakened their groupings in other directions, particularly in Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Kramatorsk.

"This has made it easier for us to conduct defensive operations," noted the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Fighting in the Kursk region

Ukrainian offensive operation in the Kursk region has been ongoing for two months. Ukrainian forces have successfully advanced, taking control of over a hundred settlements.

Earlier it was reported that the number of Russian troops in the Kursk direction had increased, with up to 45,000 soldiers now present. Many of them have been redeployed from the combat zone in Ukraine.

Recently, it was reported that Ukrainian forces broke through another sector of the front on the Russian border in the Kursk region.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Kursk operation is an important stage of the war, which has already helped and continues to help Ukraine.
