Ukrainian forces break through another sector of frontline in Kursk region
The Ukrainian Armed Forces broke through another section of the frontline on the Russian border in the Kursk region. Units of the 95th separate air assault brigade of the Polissia air assault troops made the breakthrough, according to the communications department of the Airborne Forces Command.
“This is the second successful operation to break through the Russian border since the beginning of the operation in the Kursk region of Russia,” the statement said.
The statement does not specify where exactly in the Kursk region the front was shifted.
The video shows the breaching of engineering barriers, the entry of air assault units into Russian territory, and the first battles in the border zone, where the tanks destroyed a Russian stronghold.
Operation in Kursk region
Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an operation in the Kursk region on August 6. As of August 27, 1,300 square kilometers and 100 settlements were taken under control, according to the Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi. About 600 Russian soldiers were captured.
On September 11, Russia launched a counteroffensive in the Kursk region and claimed to have quickly recaptured about 63 square kilometers from Ukrainian troops on the left flank of the territory occupied by Kyiv.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces then attacked the group from the south and captured the village of Veseloe.
