"We continue to move forward. As of today, 1,294 square kilometers and 100 settlements are under our control," he said.

The Commander-in-Chief of the AFU also added that 594 servicemen of the Russian Federation had been captured as part of the operation.

Kursk Operation

For several weeks, fighting has been ongoing in the Kursk region. The Defense Forces have breached the enemy's border and taken control of dozens of settlements. Hundreds of Russian soldiers have been captured.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the presence of the Defense Forces in the Russian region is a way to compensate for the lack of long-range capabilities. He also mentioned that the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region are part of a larger military-diplomatic operation.

In particular, Ukrainian fighters have destroyed three bridges in the region, effectively trapping part of the Russian military in a cauldron.
