Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief discusses critical needs for weapons and equipment with US General
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi had a telephone conversation with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Charles Brown. They discussed, in particular, the critical needs of Ukrainian troops in weapons and equipment, according to the Telegram channel of Syrskyi.
"During the conversation, I informed my American counterpart about changes in the operational and strategic situation and discussed the current and most critical needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in terms of weapons and military equipment," said Syrskyi.
He also mentioned that one of the discussion topics was the assistance from the US military and political leadership in strengthening the Ukrainian army's defense capabilities.
"At the end of the conversation, I thanked General Brown for his unwavering support for Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggressor," added the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
US assistance to Ukraine
The latest US military aid package to Ukraine was announced on August 9. It included weapons worth $125 million.
The package promised to provide Ukrainian forces with ammunition for HIMARS, artillery shells, anti-tank missiles, and more.
Recently, the White House announced that the US plans to announce new military aid packages for Ukraine soon.
