Ukrainian Army Commander reveals frontline developments
The Russian occupiers are not giving up their attempts to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops in the east of our country. The enemy is exerting pressure in four directions, according to Ukrainian Army Commander, Oleksandr Syrskii.
The situation in eastern Ukraine remains difficult.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy is trying to capture Synkivka at any cost and create conditions for blocking Kupiansk. After suffering losses, the Russians regroup and move units from other areas. The total number of personnel of the enemy's assault units is more than two thousand.
The Russians have resumed intensive offensives in the Lyman direction, they want to push the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of the Serebrianske forestry area and expand the Torskyi ledge. The occupiers also want to capture Terny and reach the Chornyi Zherebets River.
In the Siversk direction, the Russian invaders are trying to develop an offensive in the areas of Spirne and Bilohorivka. The Russian Federation is preparing assault units of paratroopers for an offensive in the direction of Soledar and Siversk.
Intense fighting continues in the Bakhmut direction. The enemy is trying to capture Bohdanivka and regain lost ground in the areas of Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, and Andriivka. Assault groups of the volunteer corps are operating here, having been relocated from the south. The Russians have also sent marines of the Caspian flotilla to attack.
According to Syrskii, in the east, the Russians began to use more armored vehicles, kamikaze drones, and increased artillery shelling.
"In all directions of the enemy's offensive, our commanders at all levels are taking the necessary measures to strengthen defense and prevent the enemy from advancing," the general says.
Despite the difficult situation, Ukrainian soldiers are inflicting losses on the enemy. Thus, over the last week alone, Russia lost more than 3,000 personnel in the eastern direction, including more than a thousand killed. 361 units of enemy equipment were destroyed and damaged. Among them are 43 tanks, 83 armored combat vehicles, and 69 artillery systems.
Situation at the front
Currently, the Ukrainian military is mostly on active defense and attacking whenever possible. In particular, near Bakhmut and in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Recently, Ukrainian soldiers recaptured one of the spoil heaps near Horlivka, Donetsk region. However, the situation in the area of Avdiivka and Maryinka, for example, is complicated.
Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi said that Ukrainian troops had retreated to the northern outskirts of Maryinka, as the Russians had destroyed the Ukrainian city.
He also admitted that if there are not enough forces to defend Avdiivka, the Ukrainian Armed Forces may withdraw from the city and then recapture it.
