The Cabinet of Ministers has terminated the agreement with the government of the Russian Federation on the coordination of railway transport activities, concluded on May 14, 1993, in Moscow, according to the representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Taras Melnychuk.

The agreement, in particular, envisaged the preservation of technological connections between the railways of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

The railway communication between Russia and Ukraine was halted after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Cancellation of agreements

With the onset of the large-scale invasion, Ukraine systematically works on canceling contracts concluded in previous years with Russia. Just this year, the government terminated the agreements:

  • On cooperation and interaction in the development of checkpoints across the Ukrainian-Russian state border;
  • On cooperation in the field of aviation search and rescue;
  • On cooperation in the field of research and use of outer space for peaceful purposes;
  • On air communication and cooperation in the field of air transport; on the principles of collaboration in the production and supply of aviation equipment;
  • On the mutual establishment of Trade and Economic Missions.
  • Regarding cooperation in the field of industrial property protection.
