Ukraine continues difficult negotiations with the US to end the war with Russia. It is now important for all sides to assess the situation realistically, according to Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's Presidential Office.
According to him, lasting peace is needed not only by Ukraine. Therefore, all sides must act carefully and rely only on truthful information.
"The objective fact is that Dobropillia remains under Ukrainian control, so there can be no talk of Russian troops 'capturing' this Ukrainian city," Budanov stressed.
He pointed out that Andrey Ivanayev, commander of Russia's Center Group of Forces, is deliberately deceiving leader Vladimir Putin, intimidating his subordinates, and giving them impossible orders to demonstrate the capture of Dobropillia at any cost.
According to the head of Ukraine's Presidential Office, no amount of disinformation will change reality.
Today, November 20, talks will take place in Oslo between a Ukrainian delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and a US delegation that includes the US President's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
False claim about Dobropillia
Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with military commanders.
As usual, he was briefed on the Russian army's "successes." In particular, Putin was assured that Dobropillia had allegedly come under Russian control.
The Kremlin leader was also briefed on the start of massive strikes against Ukraine's energy infrastructure facilities.
