Ukraine, US and Russia end first day of talks in Abu Dhabi

The Ukrainian, American, and Russian delegations have concluded the first day of peace talks in Abu Dhabi, according to Diana Davitian, spokesperson for the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

“The talks are over for today,” Davitian said.
An RBC-Ukraine source confirmed that the talks in Abu Dhabi will continue tomorrow.
The start of the negotiations became known at around 12:00 Kyiv time. The negotiations lasted a little less than 5 hours.
Negotiations between Ukraine, the US, and Russia
The first round of trilateral negotiations between Ukraine, the US, and Russia took place on January 23-24. This is the first meeting in this format. The dialogue is taking place at the technical level.
The meeting took place just one day after Russia violated the energy truce with Ukraine and once again struck Ukrainian energy facilities.
The strike was particularly brutal, as the Russians attacked Ukrainian thermal power plants during the coldest days of winter.
After the attack, more than a thousand homes in Kyiv were left without heating. The Russians severely damaged the Darnytsia thermal power plant. Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said that its restoration would take a long time.
Commenting on the attack, US Senator Lindsey Graham called on US President Donald Trump to transfer Tomahawk long-range missiles to Ukraine. According to him, the current pressure on Russia is not enough, as Russian leader Vladimir Putin does not want to participate in negotiations.
