In Ukraine, a new generation of interceptor drones developed by SkyFall, called P1-SUN Long, has been presented. The drones are equipped with artificial intelligence, according to The New York Times.
According to the outlet, the AI system has been trained on more than 10,000 videos of real combat interceptions. In addition, the P1-SUN Long is capable of independently detecting an aerial target at a distance of up to 800 meters. After operator confirmation, it automatically locks onto the target, tracks it, and destroys it.
The NYT notes that such interceptors have already recorded dozens of confirmed combat hits against Russian Shaheds.
The P1-SUN Long upgrade represents an important step in developing an autonomous air-defense system by SkyFall, where artificial intelligence takes over a significant part of target detection, tracking, and engagement, while the operator can control dozens of missions simultaneously.
In addition, The New York Times also showed the operation of SHRIKE FPV drones with the systems of AI-guidance used to strike ground targets.
The media have revealed new details about Ukraine’s KAB Vyrivniuvach. Ukraine has completed the development of its first glide bomb after nearly a year and a half of work.
