Ukrainian company Frontline has signed a strategic agreement with German-Ukrainian drone manufacturer Quantum Systems. The partnership involves scaling up production in Ukraine and deeper integration into the European defense industry, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

According to him, Quantum Systems is known for its drones equipped with built-in AI and real-time analytics, while Frontline specializes in engineering solutions for reconnaissance and assault missions.

Among their developments are:

  • the Linza bomber drone
  • the Zoom reconnaissance drone
  • the Buria turret

He also noted that these products have already been codified under NATO standards and are in use by 41 units.

"The Ukrainian defense tech ecosystem allows international partners to operate at a high pace: to develop products, test them directly on the front lines, and quickly implement changes based on feedback from the military," Fedorov added.

Drone production

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine plans to produce hundreds of thousands of interceptor drones this year. He noted that the number of downed Russian Shaheds will continue to grow.

"The key component is interceptor drones. They have already proven themselves in Ukraine. We’ve tested drones from several companies, and now we’ve signed a very serious contract. We are counting on a large number of Shaheds being shot down," the President said.

He also stated that Ukraine will contract all available volumes of priority drone types. This year’s production numbers will exceed initial plans.

In addition, the President recently wrote on social media that Ghana is ready to finance drone production for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
