Ukraine will maintain an advantage on the battlefield for at least the next six months, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said in an interview with TSN.

According to the minister, changes in procedures and the introduction of competitive procurement in Ukraine have improved the quality of drones and transformed the logic of weapons supply. This has helped create a new battlefield reality in favor of the Defense Forces.

"Russians, as previous years show, adapt and try to seize the initiative. Right now, for the next six months, we will definitely have an advantage," said Fedorov.

He added that the current mass ballistic missile strikes on the center of Kyiv indicate the weakness of the Kremlin and of Vladimir Putin personally.

What is happening on the front line

Today, June 16, during a speech at the Reuters Next summit, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russian forces attempted offensives in 12 directions, but achieved nothing.

At present, the enemy is advancing slowly only in two or three directions. In the remaining sectors, Russian forces have lost the initiative, while Ukrainian defenders are achieving greater success in some areas.

Zelenskyy also said that Ukraine has regained the initiative in terms of long- and medium-range strikes.

On the night of June 16, Ukrainian forces struck the Moscow oil refinery. As a result of the attack, the plant suspended operations.
