Ukraine to get more Patriot systems in new multilayered deal, Zelenskyy says

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv will receive additional Patriot air defense systems through a multilayered deal with international partners.
"We are doing everything to ensure Ukraine receives as many tools as possible to shoot down drones and missiles. We are finalizing a deal — a multilayered one — for new Patriot systems and missiles for them," Zelenskyy said.
He added that Ukraine is actively ramping up domestic production of air defense capabilities, especially drone interceptors. Russian forces, he warned, should expect more drone strikes on cities inside Russia.
"We will continue our active drone operations on Russian territory in response to their attacks. As always, we will act asymmetrically — and it works," he said.
Patriot Systems for Ukraine
US President Donald Trump confirmed on July 9 that Ukraine had requested Patriot systems from Washington. He stopped short of making any commitments, although media reports suggested the US could supply Ukraine with one additional system.
Following the NATO summit in Rome, Zelenskyy said Germany is prepared to finance two US-made Patriot systems for Ukraine, while Norway has agreed to fund another. Ukraine's Foreign Ministry confirmed that talks are ongoing not only for American air defense systems but also for a broader range of capabilities to intercept Russian drones and missiles.
