Ukraine has successfully tested its long-range drone capable of reaching 3,000 km, said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Today, I held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Several issues were discussed, but the main focus was drones - every type of drone we need. There is good news regarding long-range drones. Our 3,000-km drone has passed the tests. I am grateful to the developers and manufacturers. We are developing a line of long-range weapons that will help guarantee our country’s security," Zelenskyy said.

The President was also briefed on the use of Ukrainian missiles, particularly the long-range Neptune missile.

"We can say we are satisfied with the strike results. But we need to produce more missiles, more drones, and this week we will discuss this with our partners," the head of state noted.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine's defense production capacity, combined with investments from partners, especially in Europe, forms a strong foundation for a new security architecture that will inevitably be created on the continent.

"We need new things - enough modern technological weaponry, sufficient defense spending, and strong investment in defense production. And the main thing is motivation. Motivation to defend one’s home. That means forces that have relevant combat experience and are trained by those who have this experience," Zelenskyy added.

Ukrainian-made drones

Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine has steadily expanded its drone production, even exceeding its target in 2024.

Last year, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated that in 2025, the military-industrial complex would ramp up weapons production, focusing on drones and long-range weapons, including ballistic missiles.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the supply of UAV systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces has significantly increased in 2025, particularly FPV drones, reaching around 200,000 units per month.

Additionally, Ukraine is scaling up production of long-range drones and missiles. In fact, Ukraine’s long-range strike drones have, to some extent, become a substitute for long-range missiles.
