Ukrainian drones struck Russian minesweeper Valentin Pikul and two anti-submarine ships in the attack on the port of Novorossiysk on March 2, according to sources in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

Sources in the special services confirmed that on the night of March 2, the SBU, together with the Ukrainian Defense Forces, struck the naval minesweeper Valentin Pikul.

The anti-submarine ships Yeysk and Kasimov were also seriously damaged.

In addition, three Russian sailors were killed, and 14 others were wounded.

During the attack, the 30N6E2 guidance radar of the S-300PMU-2 Favorit complex, the Pantsir-S2 air defense missile system, and six of the seven oil loading stands at the Sheskharis oil terminal were also hit. The fire in the port lasted all night.

"The SBU systematically strikes the enemy where it considers itself safe — in ports, at bases, and deep in the rear. There are no protected areas for Russian military facilities. As long as Russia wages war against Ukraine, it will have no peace anywhere - neither at sea, nor on land, nor in the rear," a source in the SBU says.

Attack on Russian port of Novorossiysk

On the night of March 2, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, struck military ships, air defense systems, and oil infrastructure of Russia in the port of Novorossiysk.

The SBU emphasized that the damaged terminal in the Russian port was one of the largest oil transshipment complexes for oil and petroleum products in southern Russia. It supplies fuel to Russian groups fighting in Ukraine.
