Ukraine shoots down 97 of 115 Russian drones in overnight attack

Seventeen strikes were recorded across six locations, and debris from downed drones fell in two additional areas, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
From 21:00 on September 26, Russia launched a massive attack, sending 115 strike drones, including Shaheds, Gerberas, and other models, at Ukraine.
The launches came from several directions: Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea. More than 70 of them were Shaheds.
How Ukraine’s defense responded
Air defense included aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Unmanned systems were also actively deployed.

As of 09:00, preliminary data indicate that Ukrainian air defenses destroyed or suppressed 97 enemy drones of various types across the north, south, east, and center of the country.
Despite the high efficiency of air defenses, 17 strike drones hit six locations. In addition, debris from downed drones fell in two other areas.
Nighttime attack by Russia
On the night of September 27, Russian occupiers again attacked Vinnytsia region with drones, hitting critical infrastructure.
Russian forces also struck Zaporizhzhia overnight. The attack left thousands without power and destroyed a grocery store belonging to the well-known ATB chain.
In addition, today Russian drones targeted railway infrastructure in Odesa region, causing damage.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, there were no casualties among railway workers or passengers. Trains had been stopped at a safe distance from the strike sites. Train services have now resumed, although delays remain.
