Talks on security guarantees for Ukraine took place in Brussels. In addition, the participants discussed a new European security strategy, according to Rustem Umerov, head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service.

"The main focus of today’s meetings in Brussels was security guarantees for Ukraine. Together with representatives of France, the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States, and NATO, we discussed what security guarantees from the United States and other partners should look like, as well as a new European security strategy," he says.

Umerov emphasizes that work on this track is ongoing and adds that details and next steps will be announced later.

"For Ukraine, it is essential that security guarantees are not merely a political declaration, but a system that works in practice," he stresses.

On November 4, talks were held in Brussels regarding a plan for Ukraine's recovery, attracting investment, and securing funding for 2027.

Earlier, the NYT reported that the Trump administration was trying to persuade Ukraine to conclude a peace agreement with Russia, which could involve territorial concessions regarding Donbas. In return, Washington was promising Kyiv potential economic benefits.

In addition, Umerov reported attempts by unidentified individuals to obtain information about Ukraine's new diplomatic initiatives and negotiations with international partners regarding ending the war.
