Russia's Defense Ministry claims of "success" in Chasiv Yar are false. The frontline in the city has barely changed for months, informs Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational-strategic troop group.

"Yes, part of the city is controlled by Russians, but they have held it for a long time. Ukrainian forces control another part. Fighting continues constantly in the city," he said.

Trehubov emphasized that the line of contact in Chasiv Yar has remained almost unchanged for months.

"But to say that this statement by the Defense Ministry or Putin was based on anything is impossible. If it were based on at least a local successful attack, we could analyze what they presented. But they are simply lying out of thin air," the Ukrainian Army major said.

Situation in Chasiv Yar

It is worth noting that on August 1, Putin claimed Russian forces had supposedly captured Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.

He also added that the Ukrainian authorities were "not well informed about frontline developments."

Furthermore, on July 31, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the "capture" of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.

The “Khortytsia operational-strategic troop group immediately ridiculed the Russian statements and denied their falsehood. Ukrainian troops also explained the Russians' "performances" in Chasiv Yar.
