In September, Ukraine U21 began their campaign in the Euro 2027 qualifiers. The blue and yellow were drawn into Group H, where they will compete for a tournament spot alongside Croatia, Hungary, Türkiye, and Lithuania. The team’s first opponent was Lithuania, representing the last, fifth pot during the draw.
"We knew the game against Lithuania wouldn’t be easy, but we hoped to control the match and make the most of our chances," the national team coach commented.

The Ukraine vs. Lithuania match started without early goals, but in the 69th minute, Danylo Krevsun opened the scoring. After a cross from Hennadii Synchuk from the flank, the forward struck accurately into the far corner of the net — 1-0 in favor of Ukraine.
Just four minutes later, Serhii Korniichuk doubled the lead, finishing with a precise shot after a pass from Artem Husol. In the 77th minute, Synchuk converted a penalty following a foul on him by Domantas Šluta, and the final score was set in stoppage time by Ramik Hadzhyiev, who came on as a substitute for Synchuk — 4-0.
"We played well both in attack and defense, converting all the chances we created," one of the players noted after the match.
