Ukraine’s top official opens up on military aid, air defense talks with EU and Baltics

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, held an online meeting on July 7 with diplomatic advisers to the leaders of Northern Europe and the Baltic states, according to his Telegram post.
“I informed colleagues about the results of the recent phone conversation between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump. It was an open and constructive discussion focused on security, peace, and support for Ukraine,” Yermak stated.
He added that during the talks, Zelenskyy emphasized the critical importance of military aid, particularly the supply of air defense systems to save civilian lives and protect critical infrastructure.
“We also discussed preparations for the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will take place in Rome next week. It is meant to send a powerful signal of unity and trust in our country. We coordinated positions ahead of important international meetings, including the upcoming meeting of the leaders of the coalition of the willing,” he concluded.
Suspension of US aid to Ukraine
On July 2, Politico reported that Washington had suspended shipments of air defense missiles and other ammunition to Ukraine. In response, Kyiv initiated a phone call with US representatives to clarify the situation.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the issue, stating that Kyiv is working to understand all the details regarding the deliveries.
Amid these developments, Andrii Yermak called Brian Mast, chairman of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee. The main topic of their conversation was defense support for Ukraine and strengthening its air defense capabilities.
