Ukraine’s top tennis player Elina Svitolina has marked a historic achievement in world tennis. She is celebrating her milestone 600th week in the WTA top 100, holding the absolute record among Ukrainian players.

RBC-Ukraine reports on Svitolina’s new record in the world of tennis.

600 weeks in the world’s elite

The WTA ranking update of September 22, connected to the ongoing tournament in Beijing, was the last before September 29.

On Monday, the positions remained unchanged — Elina Svitolina held on to 13th place and marked her milestone 600th week in the world’s top 100.

Her closest Ukrainian competitor, Lesia Tsurenko, trails Svitolina by 160 weeks and last competed back in November 2024.

This gap only highlights Svitolina’s exceptional consistency and dominance among Ukrainian tennis players.

Path from debut to record

Elina Svitolina first entered the WTA top 100 on February 18, 2013, at the age of 18.

Over the following years, the Ukrainian spent an incredible 479 consecutive weeks in the top 100, until September 2022, when she dropped out due to pregnancy.

Returning to the court in June 2023, Svitolina quickly regained her place in the top 100 and has now been there for 121 consecutive weeks.

Out of her total 600 weeks in the top 100, she has been in the top 10 for 218 weeks, with her career-high ranking achieved on September 11, 2017, when she rose to world No. 3.

This achievement makes her the record holder among all Ukrainian tennis players — both women and men.
